Former first-round safety Lewis Cine is signing to the Buffalo Bills' practice squad, the team announced Thursday.

It was reported Wednesday that Cine was expected to join the New York Jets. Though Cine leaned in that direction initially, he ultimately decided to head to Buffalo, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

The No. 32 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Cine was cut by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this week.

Cine has been unable to make an impact since sustaining a compound fracture in Week 4 of his rookie season, which ended his campaign.

Cine has played just 10 defensive snaps over two seasons, recording one total tackle.
