Report: Falcons fined for not reporting Robinson illness in Week 7
The NFL fined the Atlanta Falcons $75,000 and head coach Arthur Smith $25,000 for violating the league's injury report policy after the club didn't disclose Bijan Robinson's illness in Week 7, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Robinson sat out most of the Oct. 22 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but wasn't listed on the Falcons' injury report leading up to the game. The incident sparked an NFL investigation.
Atlanta didn't explain Robinson's absence until Smith notified reporters at halftime of the contest that the rookie running back was sick.
Robinson said postgame that he was dealing with headaches and woke up the previous night feeling "out of it."
The 21-year-old played 11 snaps in the contest and received only one carry, which came late in the fourth quarter.
