Hurts downgraded to questionable for MNF due to illness
The Philadelphia Eagles downgraded quarterback Jalen Hurts to questionable due to an illness, the team announced Sunday.
Hurts' ailment worsened overnight, but he still hopes to play in Monday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The star signal-caller is reportedly traveling separately to protect his teammates and coaches. He also missed Saturday's practice due to illness.
If Hurts can't play, backup Marcus Mariota will get the start.
Hurts' illness comes as the 10-3 Eagles are looking to rebound after suffering back-to-back blowout losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, their two main competitors in the battle for NFC's No. 1 seed.
The Seattle Seahawks have their own concerns under center, with starter Geno Smith uncertain to play due to a groin injury. Smith sat out Week 14 and Drew Lock stepped in.
