Geno questionable vs. 49ers due to groin injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is questionable for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers after missing Friday's practice with a groin injury.
"We'll see. We rested him today," head coach Pete Carroll said, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.
Carroll added that Smith sustained the injury at practice Thursday.
"Tweaked his groin a little bit yesterday. Just kind of stumbled over somebody," he said.
The veteran passer also battled an elbow injury earlier this season but didn't miss any games. Coming off his first Pro Bowl campaign, Smith has completed 64.4% of his passes for 2,918 yards and 15 touchdowns against nine interceptions. He's also lost two fumbles.
Drew Lock presumably will start the 49ers matchup if Smith is unavailable. Seattle also signed quarterback Sean Mannion to its practice squad Friday.
The 6-6 Seahawks have lost three in a row.
