Falcons release 12 players including QB Sean Renfree
The Atlanta Falcons released linebacker Brian Banks earlier Friday and made 13 other roster cuts, including placing quarterback Sean Renfree on injured reserve.
Other casualties include: tight end Andrew Szczerba, Guard Theo Goins, defensive tackle Neal Huynh, cornerback Terrence Johnson, safety Charles Mitchell, DT Micanor Regis, tackle Alec Savoie, linebacker Pat Schiller, kicker Jeremy Shelley, CB Peyton Thompson and running back Ronnie Wingo.
The moves get the Falcons down to 62 players, leaving nine more cuts ahead of Saturday's 53-man roster deadline.
