Patriots develop mobile app to improve in-stadium experience

The New England Patriots have provided fans at Gillette Stadium with plenty of excitement over the years.

Having the opportunity to witness Tom Brady and his explosive offense light up the scoreboard first-hand should be more than enough to make people want to watch the game live instead of staying home.

In a perfect world for Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL, it would be.

But now more than ever, many prefer the comfort of their own couch. As a result, the Patriots are turning to the latest technology in order to improve the in-stadium experience and lure them in.

CIO.com reports that the reigning AFC East champions have developed a mobile app - Patriots Game Day Live - that will provide everything from access to NFL RedZone to information regarding bathroom-line waiting times.

You can even order concessions without leaving your seat.

"You have your own bathroom, the fridge is 10 feet away and the cost of a big-screen TV is less than it ever was," says Fred Kirsch, publisher and VP of content at the New England Patriots football franchise. "Those are really hard to compete with."

In addition, the team is upgrading its WiFi system to allow 40 percent of spectators to connect at the same time.

No word yet on whether you can watch the game at Gillette without any pants on.
