Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will be back on the practice field next week, head coach Sean McVay announced Friday, according to NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano.

Kupp's practice return will open a 21-day window for the team to activate him off injured reserve. The veteran wideout was placed on IR prior to the Rams' Week 1 contest against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring issue.

McVay has reiterated during Kupp's absence that he was hopeful the wideout would be back once his minimum four-game stay on IR ended.

The 2021 Offensive Player of the Year initially injured his hamstring early in training camp before suffering a setback at the end of August.

Kupp caught 75 passes for 812 yards and six touchdowns over nine games last year. His 2021 campaign, which included an NFL-high 145 grabs, 1,947 yards, and 16 scores, helped propel the Rams to Super Bowl LVI.

Fifth-round rookie Puka Nacua has emerged as Los Angeles' top wideout in the early portion of the 2023 season with 30 receptions for 338 yards. The Rams head into their Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts with a 1-2 record.
