Report: Patriots to re-sign Jonathan Jones to 2-year deal worth up to $20M
The New England Patriots are expected to re-sign cornerback Jonathan Jones to a two-year contract, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The two-year pact is worth a maximum of $20 million and contains $13 million fully guaranteed, according to Ben Volin of The Boston Globe.
Jones was slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The reported re-signing comes just minutes after the NFL's legal tampering window opened.
The 29-year-old has been a consistent contributor since coming to New England as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He went over 80% defensive snaps played for the first time last season as he became a full-time starter.
Jones is coming off his best season as a pro, recording a career-high four interceptions and 11 pass breakups over 16 starts in 2022.
