Raiders trade veteran Hankins to Cowboys
The Las Vegas Raiders traded defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and a 2024 seventh-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round selection, the team announced.
Hankins has started just one game this season and was recently a healthy scratch in Week 5 against the Kanas City Chiefs. The 30-year-old recorded 10 tackles and one QB hit in five contests.
The addition of the 6-foot-3, 340-pound Hankins is expected to help improve Dallas' run defense, which is surrendering 120.1 rushing yards per game through seven weeks.
The former second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft had stints with the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, and Raiders. He has racked up 366 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks during his 10-year career.
