Gronk reveals he has 4 cracked ribs, 1 broken rib, punctured lung
Rob Gronkowski's injury is more serious than initially reported, as he has four cracked ribs, one broken rib, and a punctured lung, he revealed to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end was reported to be dealing with multiple fractured ribs following an MRI and CT scan. He finished a Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams after briefly leaving the game for X-rays.
Gronkowski didn't make the trip to New England for what would have been a homecoming of sorts. Gronkowski spent his first nine seasons with the Patriots and was one of the most popular players in franchise history before retiring. He ended his retirement after one season, returning to the NFL with Tampa Bay.
The Buccaneers ruled out Gronkowski on Saturday after listing him as doubtful on the final injury report this week. He missed all three practices.
Gronkowski is now expected to miss multiple games. The future Hall of Famer has 184 yards and four touchdowns in three outings this season.
