Saints' Lattimore set to play vs. Patriots after missing Week 2
New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore was removed from the team's injury report and will play Sunday against the New England Patriots, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Lattimore suffered a thumb injury in the season opener against the Green Bay Packers and underwent surgery, forcing him to miss the Week 2 contest against the Carolina Panthers.
The star cornerback ramped up his practice participation this week. He was a full participant Friday after being limited Thursday and Wednesday.
Lattimore has been the face of the Saints' secondary since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2017, recording 10 interceptions and 56 pass breakups over his tenure in New Orleans. He was rewarded with a five-year, $97.6-million extension shortly after the Week 1 contest against the Packers.
Defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson is also set to rejoin the Saints' secondary Sunday after being sidelined for Week 2 with a knee injury.
