Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat signed a three-year, $40-million extension that includes $26.92 million guaranteed, his agency announced Saturday.
The deal contains a maximum value of $42 million and keeps Sweat tied to the Eagles through the 2024 campaign.
Sweat has seen his stock rise gradually since entering the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Eagles in 2018. A history of knee injuries hurt his draft position, but Sweat has been durable and productive over the past two seasons.

Sweat is the second member of the Eagles' 2018 draft class to ink an extension. Left tackle Jordan Mailata - a seventh-round pick that year - agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $80 million before the season opener.
