The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to rework the final year of left tackle Duane Brown's contract, sources told ESPN's Brady Henderson.
The veteran will receive a $7-million signing bonus and another $4 million in base salary, Henderson adds.
Brown was originally set to receive $10 million in base salary and an additional $1 million in per-game roster bonuses this season. He won't get any new money in 2021, but his guaranteed money increases.
He can make up to $12 million with incentives, according to Henderson. The Seahawks also granted him an injury protection benefit for 2022.
The 36-year-old returned to practice Monday after sitting out amid his contract dispute. Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed Brown will start Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts despite his lack of offseason participation.
"He's ready to go," Carroll said Monday. "We're pleased to have him."
Brown has started 53 games for the Seahawks since coming over in a trade from the Houston Texans in 2017.
