Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested Sunday for felony illegal possession of a firearm, according to TMZ Sports.

Police said they saw an uzi inside a bag in Clark's car after pulling him over during a routine traffic stop in the Los Angeles area.

Clark was released from jail on Monday afternoon after bail was posted at $35,000, according to NFL.com.

Clark has been one of the Chiefs' most important defenders since joining Kansas City in a trade from the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. The two-time Pro Bowler, who had five sacks during the Chiefs' Super Bowl title run two years ago, has racked up 14 sacks over the last two regular seasons.

The 28-year-old became one of the NFL's highest-paid players by inking a five-year, $104-million contract extension upon his arrival in Kansas City.

Selected in the second round in 2015, the Michigan product amassed 35 sacks through his first four NFL campaigns with the Seahawks.
