Multiple teams are expected to approach the San Francisco 49ers about trading for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but the chances of the passer being dealt are remote, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing sources.

As it stands now, the 49ers are likely to draft a quarterback with the No. 3 pick Thursday despite having Garoppolo on the roster.

Garoppolo also has a no-trade clause in his contract and would have to approve any proposed trade destination.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have long maintained that they intend to keep Garoppolo for the 2021 season, even though they traded three first-round selections to move up to the third overall pick to choose his eventual successor.

The 29-year-old is scheduled to make $25 million this season.
