Report: Jaguars expected to hire Darrell Bevell as OC
Urban Meyer's coaching staff in Jacksonville has found its offensive coordinator.
The Jaguars are expected to hire Darrell Bevell to replace Jay Gruden at the position, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Bevell reportedly generated interest from multiple teams this past month after spending the last two seasons as the Lions' offensive coordinator.
The 51-year-old was also Detroit's interim head coach for five games in 2020, posting a 1-4 record.
Bevell was previously the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings (2006-10) and Seattle Seahawks (2011-17), helping the latter win Super Bowl XLVIII.
The Arizona native is now set to replace Gruden, whose offensive unit scored just 19.1 points per game during the 2020 regular season.
The Jaguars have been looking for a new coaching staff since hiring head coach Urban Meyer last week.
Jacksonville owns the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
