"We're not commenting on nature of the allegations," Josh Hans, a spokesman for the Parker Police Department, told Mike Klis of 9News. "We haven't completed the investigation."
A person familiar with the situation said the investigation is related to interactions between Miller and his former girlfriend, Megan Denise, according to the Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala.
Denise shared an ultrasound image and text messages she claimed were from Miller, saying: "I’m honestly praying for a miscarriage," and, "I hate you! … You gon get yours! Believe that."
Miller's ex-girlfriend followed up the texts with a separate post on Instagram: "My heart goes out to any woman/or man who is or has ever dealt with mental, physical, or verbal abuse. Praying death on me and mine was enough!!"
Following news of the investigation, Denise released a statement on Friday evening.
"In light of recent media reports regarding my relationship with Von, I feel that I need to address a couple of things. First and foremost, at no point in our relationship was there any type of physical abuse or violence by Von, whatsoever. For anyone to say otherwise, or to speculate such, is wrong."
Miller missed the entire 2020 season after suffering a dislodged ankle tendon in training camp.
"We are aware of an investigation involving Von Miller and are in the process of gathering more information," the Broncos said in a statement.
