The San Francisco 49ers are set to welcome back some key players to the active roster.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the team will activate Richard Sherman, Raheem Mostert, and Jeff Wilson Jr. off injured reserve Saturday, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. All three are considered questionable for Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams.

Sherman, a five-time Pro Bowler, hasn't played since the 49ers' season opener due to a calf injury. The 32-year-old cornerback has recorded three interceptions since joining San Francisco in 2019 and is a huge part of the secondary.

Should he return Sunday, the veteran defensive back is expected to form a formidable duo with cornerback Jason Verrett.

Wilson suffered a high ankle sprain during a breakout performance against the New England Patriots in Week 7 and hasn't suited up since. The running back put up 112 rushing yards and three touchdowns in that game.

Mostert has also been plagued by an ankle ailment and suited up for just four games this campaign. The 28-year-old back played a critical part in the 49ers' run to last year's Super Bowl and looked to continue where he left off, rushing for 5.9 yards per carry this season.

The 49ers are also expected to have receiver Deebo Samuel back in the lineup Sunday after he was left off the injury report.

Samuel has been sidelined since Week 7 due to a hamstring injury. The second-year receiver put up 802 receiving yards during his rookie campaign but has been limited to just 185 receiving yards in 2020.

The 49ers have been battered by injuries throughout the season, which is a large reason why the club sits at the bottom of the NFC West with a 4-6 record.
