The Philadelphia Eagles are signing veteran tight end Zach Ertz to their practice squad, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Ertz expects to be promoted and available to play Monday night against the Chicago Bears, reports The Ringer's Tom Pelissero.
Philadelphia stayed in contact with Ertz through the summer, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.
The three-time Pro Bowler suited up for the Eagles from 2013-21, helping the franchise win its first Super Bowl.
Philadelphia is reportedly without starting tight end Dallas Goedert for a few weeks after he sustained an MCL sprain during Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans.
Ertz spent the previous two seasons with the Washington Commanders. The 35-year-old caught 50 passes for 504 receiving yards to go along with four touchdowns last season.
He's 11 receptions away from breaking Harold Carmichael's franchise record of 589 catches with the Eagles.
