Denver Broncos tight end Noah Fant was carted off during Thursday's game against the New York Jets and did not return, though the ankle injury he sustained is minor, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fant suffered the injury while being tackled by Jets safety Bradley McDougald.

The 2019 first-rounder caught five passes for 35 yards before exiting. He entered the game with 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Nick Vannett and Jake Butt are Fant's immediate backups at the position.

The Broncos also lost wide receiver KJ Hamler to a hamstring injury.
