Ron Rivera raided his former team to find his new offensive coordinator, hiring Scott Turner to join his staff with the Washington Redskins, the team confirmed Wednesday.

Scott, the son of longtime NFL coach Norv Turner, served as the Carolina Panthers' interim offensive coordinator following the firing of Rivera and shifting of his father to special assistant to the head coach. Scott was previously the team's quarterbacks coach.

Carolina averaged 15 points per contest over the final four games of the season - all losses - with Scott at the helm. Rookie quarterback Will Grier took over for Kyle Allen in the final two contests.

Scott will oversee the development of 2019 first-round quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who started seven games during his rookie season.

Haskins had an uneven first year in the NFL, but the former Ohio State standout finished the season strong, throwing for 394 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions in his last two games.
