Offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich was one of several assistants fired Tuesday by the Chicago Bears, the team announced Tuesday.
Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, tight ends coach Kevin Gilbride, and assistant special teams coach Brock Olivo were also relieved of their duties.
Helfrich spent two seasons on the staff of head coach Matt Nagy, who called offensive plays both years. The former Oregon bench boss is a disciple of Chip Kelly.
The Bears struggled on offense in 2019, finishing the season ranked 29th in both points and yards per game.
