Report: Giants to interview Cowboys' Richard for HC vacancy
The New York Giants have scheduled an interview with Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Kris Richard for their head coaching vacancy, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson. The Giants are set to meet with Richard on Thursday.
Richard was Dallas' passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach the past two seasons and received interest as a head coaching candidate last year from multiple teams.
Though he isn't the Cowboys' official defensive coordinator, he's received most of the credit for running the team's defense alongside Rod Marinelli.
Before joining Dallas, Richard was the Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator for three seasons.
The Giants have also reportedly expressed interest in Eric Bieniemy, Josh McDaniels, and Baylor head coach Matt Rhule after firing Pat Shurmur on Monday.
