Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is expected to play on Sunday Night Football versus the Buffalo Bills after missing three games with a shoulder injury, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Conner has been sidelined for five of Pittsburgh's last six contests because of his troublesome shoulder. He was limited to five carries in the one game he did play during that stretch.

The likely return of Conner comes as pleasant news to a Steelers team that will once again be without top receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury during practice.

Conner has 390 yards and four touchdowns on the ground across eight appearances in 2019.

The Steelers hold the second AFC wild-card spot entering Week 15, while the Bills sit with the first wild card.
