Week 13 of the NFL season comes to a close Monday with a star-studded matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. Here are the best player props for the NFC tilt.
Russell Wilson over 1.5 touchdown passes
I've been burned by a couple of Wilson-related props in prime time this season.
In Week 5 against the Rams, he went over his passing yards prop by 11. In Week 10, he went over his completion prop in overtime. I had the under both times.
But last week, I recommended taking his passing yards under against the Eagles. It hit. Don't call it a comeback.
This week, I'm taking my first over on a Wilson prop in what should be a track meet in Seattle.
Minnesota's secondary has been unusually spotty this season. The run defense has been great, but the pass defense ranks in the bottom half of the league in DVOA. The Vikings have played five offenses this season that currently rank in the top 10 in pass DVOA and allowed at least two passing touchdowns to four of them, the lone exception being Kansas City with backup quarterback Matt Moore.
Seattle currently paces the league in pass offense DVOA, and I don't know how you can fade Wilson in prime time.
Tyler Lockett longest reception over 21.5 yards
The Wilson-Lockett combo has been arguably the NFL's best this season. However, the duo hasn't been clicking of late, as Lockett has just four catches for 64 yards and no touchdowns over the last two games. I'd expect a bounce-back performance from the star receiver against the Vikings' secondary, which hasn't been all that great at covering opposing WR1s. Let's take a stab at the longest reception over prop on Lockett, who's had a catch go for at least 21 yards in eight of 11 contests this season.
Irv Smith over 27.5 receiving yards
I really like Smith's upside in the passing game and how he's progressed as the season's gone along. After failing to see a target in two of his first four appearances, the tight end has seen at least three in each of the last five and has totaled 20 receptions over that span. The Seahawks' defense is allowing north of 67 yards per game on average to opposing tight ends in 2019.
