Browns' Kitchens: I'd wear 'Pittsburgh started it' shirt again
Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens doesn't regret wearing his "Pittsburgh started it" T-shirt.
Kitchens wore the shirt Friday prior to the highly anticipated second clash this season between the Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. After Cleveland fell by a score of 20-13 to its division rivals, Kitchens said the shirt - which seems to reference Week 11's game-ending brawl - didn't play a role in his club's most recent loss.
"I wore a T-shirt. I wore a jacket with it. My daughters wanted me to wear the shirt. And I'd wear it again," Kitchens said, according to NFL.com's Nick Shook. "T-shirt didn't cause us to give up 40-yard passes, and we were ready to play. That's the only thing people need to be concerned about."
The Browns dropped to 5-7 this season with Sunday's loss, during which they were outgained 323 to 279 in total yards and committed two turnovers.
"I don't really have a comment for that. It's just a T-shirt. I've done much worse," Kitchens added, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot.
Steelers guard Ramon Foster was happy such a fashion statement wasn't made by Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin.
"I'm glad coach doesn't do anything like that," Foster told reporters.
The Browns will try to boost their playoff chances in Week 14 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
