Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson won't suit up Sunday against the New Orleans Saints as he nurses an ankle injury, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Johnson is also reportedly expected to miss next Thursday's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
The versatile tailback was active for last week's win over the New York Giants but played only three snaps.
Johnson didn't practice all week while nursing his ankle. Chase Edmonds led Arizona's backfield in Week 7 and turned in a productive effort, rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Edmonds will continue to carry the load for the Cardinals over the next two games. D.J. Foster, Alfred Morris, and Zach Zenner could see touches behind the second-year rusher.
