The New England Patriots have traded cornerback Duke Dawson and a seventh-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a sixth-rounder, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
A second-round selection of the Patriots in 2018, Dawson never appeared in a regular-season game for New England. He began his rookie campaign on injured reserve and was repeatedly a healthy scratch upon being activated.
Dawson, 23, played extensively in the slot during his college career. The Florida product will have a chance to earn playing time with the Broncos, who possess a thinner secondary than the Patriots.
