After Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Chad Henne suffered a fractured ankle, the team is signing former Miami Dolphins pivot Matt Moore to take over the No. 2 role behind MVP Patrick Mahomes, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Henne was injured in Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star. He will undergo surgery Tuesday.
Moore spent six seasons as the Dolphins' backup QB and started during the 2011 campaign. He did not play in 2018.
Chiefs linebacker Breeland Speaks is also scheduled to undergo surgery after suffering an MCL sprain and meniscus injury in the team's Week 2 preseason game.
