Free-agent running back Theo Riddick will sign with the Denver Broncos later this week, a source told 9 News' Mike Klis.
Riddick was released by the Detroit Lions on Saturday after six seasons with the franchise.
Several teams, including the New Orleans Saints, expressed interest in the pass-catching running back before he ultimately decided to join Denver, Klis added.
Riddick will join a Broncos backfield that features sophomores Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman. Meanwhile, 2016 fourth-round pick Devontae Booker's roster spot could be in danger.
The 28-year-old Riddick rushed for 171 yards on 40 carries with the Lions in 2018, adding 61 catches for 384 yards.
