The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived strong safety Barry Church, the team announced Friday.
Church started the Jaguars' first 11 games of the season but was replaced by rookie Ronnie Harrison in the starting lineup in Week 13.
Known for his prowess in run defense, the hard-hitting defensive back accumulated 38 tackles, one sack, and one interception in 2018.
The 30-year-old inked a four-year, $26-million contract with the Jaguars in 2017 after a breakout season with the Dallas Cowboys. Church spent seven seasons in Dallas after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
