10 biggest snubs left off the 2019 Pro Bowl rosters

The 2019 Pro Bowl rosters were released Tuesday night, and as always, many notable players were left out of the showcase.

Here are 10 of the best to miss this year's cut.

Darius Leonard, OLB, Colts

There may not have been anyone more displeased with being overlooked than the No. 36 pick from the 2018 NFL Draft.

Leonard leads the league in tackles and will be front and center in nearly all conversations for the Defensive Rookie of the Year. He's added seven sacks - he ranked second behind Denico Autry among Colts defenders - while also forcing four fumbles and recording one interception.

Chris Jones, DE, Chiefs

Jones can be easily forgotten among all the star power in Kansas City this season, but he's ranked fifth in the NFL with 14 sacks and has been the highlight of an underwhelming defensive unit.

Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers

Evans likely isn't the first guess for many when asked who ranks second in receiving yards, but he trails Atlanta Falcons wideout Julio Jones by fewer than 200 yards while ranking third with an average of 17.9 yards per reception. The Buccaneers' turmoil at quarterback makes Evans' individual production even more impressive.

Leighton Vander Esch, OLB, Cowboys

The upstart Cowboys have lost just two games that Vander Esch, the 19th overall selection of April's draft, has started this season. He ranks third in the NFC in tackles and only five linebackers have more passes defensed.

Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals

Mixon leads all AFC running backs with 995 rushing yards in just 12 games. He's scored eight touchdowns on the ground, but added just one as a receiver, despite racking up an additional 284 yards through the air. Two of his three 100-yard games have come in the past two weeks.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Panthers

The dual-threat McCaffrey ranks sixth in the league in yards on the ground, but his 768 receiving yards are 50 more than any other running back this season. He's totaled 13 combined touchdowns and 1,747 yards from scrimmage on 288 total touches.

Bradley Chubb, OLB, Broncos

Chubb may have more than his 12 sacks this season if not for sharing the field with Von Miller and his 14.5. The fifth overall selection in April has three multi-sack games this season.

Chandler Jones, DE, Cardinals

A Pro Bowler and All-Pro last season while racking up a league-leading 17 sacks, Jones and his 12 sacks were left out of this year's All-Star game. The 28-year-old is tied for eighth in the league.

T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts

The NFL leader in receiving yards in 2016 has 1,071 yards in just 12 games played this year, as he and quarterback Andrew Luck have found their old form. Tight end Eric Ebron earned a Pro Bowl honor with his 12 receiving scores on the season, but Hilton leads the team in targets, receptions, and yards.

Desmond King, CB, Chargers

King is Pro Football Focus' second-ranked cornerback this season, coming in below only Stephon Gilmore of the New England Patriots. The sophomore defensive back has three interceptions and 10 passes defended with one touchdown return.
