The Los Angeles Rams were apparently intent on upgrading their pass rush.
The Rams made multiple inquiries about the availability of Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney after failing to land Khalil Mack, but were rebuffed by Houston, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Los Angeles also pursued Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes, but Buffalo wasn't interested in moving their top pass rusher. Ultimately, the Rams acquired Dante Fowler Jr. in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Clowney is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but will likely receive either a big-money long-term extension or the franchise tag before hitting the open market.
