Geno Smith implies ex-Giants HC Ben McAdoo deserves apology

Quarterback Geno Smith took to Twitter Friday, appearing to suggest that former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo deserves an apology.

McAdoo infamously benched quarterback Eli Manning for Smith last season with the Giants holding a 2-9 record and Manning's streak of consecutive starts sitting at 210 games.

Smith, now with the Los Angeles Chargers, started only one game before McAdoo switched back to Manning the following week.

McAdoo was fired shortly after the surprising move, ending his brief run as Giants head coach before his second campaign ended.

Seattle Seahawks receiver Brandon Marshall, who was with the Giants last year, responded to Smith's tweet shortly after.

Smith's tweet came after Eli Manning struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, continuing his rough season for the 1-5 Giants.

Manning has accumulated six touchdowns, four interceptions, and two lost fumbles this season. His 7.2 yards per attempt ranks 25th among quarterbacks.
