Green Bay Packers defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury, a source told ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

Wilkerson was carted off during Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins after accidentally colliding with Packers safety Kentrell Brice.

"I would say it's significant but that's as far as the details I have right now," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said.

Wilkerson signed a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Packers in March. The 28-year-old was released by the New York Jets in February after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the organization.
