The Philadelphia Eagles received good news Monday, as the team announced quarterback Carson Wentz has been cleared for contact and will make his season debut in Week 3 versus the Indianapolis Colts.

Wentz missed the Eagles' first two games of the season after tearing his ACL and LCL against the Los Angeles Rams nine months ago.

"He's going to be prepared mentally, now it's a matter of the physical part taking over," head coach Doug Pederson told reporters, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "In my mind, he's cleared, he's cleared. No need to hold back."

The third-year quarterback was expected to receive medical clearance this week, but reports had suggested the Eagles might still be cautious with their star passer.

Wentz threw for 3,296 yards and 33 touchdowns across 13 games in an MVP-caliber 2017 campaign before injuring his knee.
