Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is being sued by a Texas woman, identified as Jane Doe, who said he sexually assaulted her and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.

According to Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union, the woman said in a civil complaint filed Friday that Dareus had sex with her while she was unconscious and didn't inform her he was infected with what she believes is herpes. She's seeking damages in excess of $15,000.

The woman stated that she and the Jaguars defender went on a date in Houston on April 7 and spent the night together in a hotel. She woke up in pain the following morning and was unable to remember anything after ordering room service the previous night.

She said she met up and had sex with Dareus two more times and, after experiencing symptoms related to the STD later in the week, was diagnosed with herpes by a doctor.

The complaint requests a jury trial in civil court, and it's unclear whether a criminal complaint has been filed. The veteran defensive lineman has yet to file any documents in response to the lawsuit, Heilman reports.

Dareus was selected third overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He was traded to Jacksonville in October 2017.
