Report: Cowboys' Martin on verge of signing extension

Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to sign perennial All-Pro guard Zack Martin to a contract extension imminently, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rapoport believes the deal will put Martin among the highest-paid players at his position, or even exceed Jacksonville Jaguars guard Andrew Norwell's league-leading $13.3 million per season.

Martin hasn't missed a start since being taken 16th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft and is a key member of the Cowboys' lauded offensive line.

Left tackle Tyron Smith and center Travis Frederick are already contracted through the 2023 season, so Dallas is close to locking down the main cogs of its dominant unit for the foreseeable future.
