A high school student attempted and failed to steal Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles' truck at a party hosted by teammate Brandon Linder, Jacksonville News 4 reports, citing the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

Joseph Horton, an 18-year-old student at Fletcher High School, broke into Bortles' Ford F-150 truck and attempted to speed away, only to be blocked in by other vehicles.

Horton eventually gave up, got out of the truck, and walked into the party. Police were called when guests failed to identify Horton and arrived with Bortles and two friends closely monitoring him.

After speaking with police, Horton was charged with burglary, trespassing, and grand theft.
