Report: Patriots no longer interested in acquiring Richard Sherman
After reportedly inquiring about a trade previously, the New England Patriots are no longer interested in acquiring Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, a source told CSN's Tom E. Curran.
Seahawks general manager John Schneider confirmed on Wednesday that the team is open to trading Sherman and reportedly want a high draft pick and a top player in return for the All-Pro cornerback.
The Patriots would have had a hard time prying him away as they do not own a first- or second-round pick in this year's draft. The team also doesn't have an immediate need at cornerback with Stephon Gilmore and Malcolm Butler currently on the roster.
Sherman was reportedly open to a move to the Patriots; though he wouldn't prefer it, he understands the nature of the business.
