Coveted linebacker Dont'a Hightower is reportedly heading to Pittsburgh on the next stop of his free-agent tour, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Hightower recently met with the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans, who each reportedly came away from their talks believing the All-Pro would re-sign with the New England Patriots, but it appears the Steelers are in the mix as well.
Hightower is one of the top players still available on the open market.
Pittsburgh lost Lawrence Timmons in free agency and may also be without Jarvis Jones who is visiting with other teams. The Steelers would do well to fill their linebacker corps with a star who recently played with the team that beat them in the AFC title game.
