The Miami Dolphins landed veteran linebacker Lawrence Timmons on Friday.
Terms of the deal weren't released, but Timmons signed a two-year contract worth $12 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Timmons played 10 seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers and, facing free agency, said in January that he's "die-hard Pittsburgh" and wished to remain with the Steelers.
Instead, the 30-year-old joins an ascendant Dolphins team in need of help getting to the passer. Miami finished tied for 19th in the league with 33 sacks.
Timmons has 981 tackles and 35.5 sacks to his name for his career.
