Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett revealed Thursday that Dez Bryant missed an initial MRI and two team meetings over the past week.

Bryant feared the worst after suffering a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, and eventually underwent an MRI that revealed a hairline fracture of a bone in his right knee.

"Dez Bryant missed an MRI and a treatment on Monday. He missed a team meeting on Tuesday, and he was not at a meeting Wednesday," Garrett told reporters.

"He's a very, very passionate person. He's an emotional person. He didn't handle it the right way," Garrett added.

Bryant is a "long shot" to play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

"I'm not excusing his behavior. There are repercussions for your actions," Garrett said.
