The New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees have resumed contract talks, with the veteran seeking a deal that would place him among the highest paid players in NFL history, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports.
The 37-year-old is seeking a four-year contract worth $100 million, a source told La Canfora. He reportedly doesn't want to negotiate during the season, which would give the two parties a brief window in which to reach a deal.
Brees passed for an NFL-best 4,870 yards last season, with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
