Lions release Andre Caldwell with injury settlement
Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports
The Detroit Lions have released wide receiver Andre Caldwell with an injury settlement after placing him on injured reserve with a hand injury last week, the team announced via press release.
Caldwell was signed to the team in May to help make up for the retirement of Calvin Johnson, but slid down the depth chart before injuring his hand during practice.
The 31-year-old played the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos and the four years before that with the Cincinnati Bengals.
