Titans GM: Lewan still left tackle, Conklin to start on right side

After passing on Laremy Tunsil during his bizarre draft free fall to select Jack Conklin with the eighth overall pick, there was some confusion as to who would play which offensive tackle position for the Tennessee Titans next season.

Last year's starter on the blindside, Taylor Lewan, insisted on Saturday that he is a left tackle, and Titans general manager Jon Robinson agrees.

Robinson told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday that Lewan will be the Titans' left tackle and Conklin will start off at the right tackle position.

The general manager had said in February that Lewan was the starting left tackle "right now," when the Titans had possession of the first overall pick and were projected to draft Tunsil to be the left tackle.

Robinson added that the team felt there were several talented tackles available in the first round, but they felt that Conklin was the best fit for them. The Michigan State product is set to replace last year's starter, Byron Bell.
