Braxton Miller played only one season at wide receiver for Ohio State, but the converted quarterback isn't shy about comparing himself to one of the game's best pass-catchers.
"I look at myself as an Odell Beckham type of player. He loves the game and loves making plays. I want to be that guy you can always count on to go up and make a play," Miller told The MMQB's Robert Klemko.
Miller showed flashes of elite playmaking ability as a wideout with the Buckeyes, then turned heads with his athleticism at the Senior Bowl, prompting some analysts to suggest he could sneak into the first round of the NFL draft.
A disappointing scouting combine performance (including a 4.50-second 40-yard dash) knocked the wheels off the Miller hype train, however, and he's now considered a mid-round prospect.
"Absolutely I was pissed off," Miller said of his combine numbers. "I went straight to my college strength coach and said, 'We've got to get this right.' I've never run a 4.5 in my life. We switched up the training before the pro day and did more speed and agility."
Miller drastically improved his time at Ohio State's pro day, clocking in at 4.33 seconds.
But few question Miller's natural athleticism. When he hears his name called on draft day will likely be determined by whether he can convince any NFL team he has the raw tools to eventually become a playmaking pro receiver.
