Kliff Kingsbury is pulling himself out of consideration for the Las Vegas Raiders' offensive coordinator vacancy despite earlier reports that he was expected to take the job, his agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It was reported on Thursday that the Raiders were likely to hire Kingsbury. A deal was never signed even though both parties expected it to be completed, according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur.

However, negotiations broke down over the last 24 hours, and Kingsbury withdrew from the process, per Peter Schrager of NFL Network.

Kingsbury is considered a strong candidate for the Commanders' offensive coordinator position on new head coach Dan Quinn's staff after recently interviewing for the job, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

And he's still an option for other gigs around the NFL, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Kingsbury was one of several candidates who interviewed for the Raiders' position, joining UCLA head coach Chip Kelly, former Chicago Bears coordinator Luke Getsy, and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan.

The Raiders reportedly viewed Kingsbury as the "most creative" of those interviewed, Tafur adds.

They also spoke to Commanders coordinator Eric Bieniemy and former Houston Texans OC Pep Hamilton about the job, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.

Kingsbury spent 2023 as a senior offensive analyst at USC. There, he worked with Caleb Williams, who is regarded as a potential No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was the head coach of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals from 2019-2022, where he commanded a team led by quarterback Kyler Murray. He also worked with Patrick Mahomes while at Texas Tech.

Las Vegas is in the process of building Antonio Pierce's staff after the former interim coach was hired on a full-time basis this offseason. Pierce went 5-4 in 2023 and led the team to victories in three of its last four games.
