Jon Jones arrested on domestic violence charge, released on bail
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Jon Jones on Friday morning, a police spokesperson told ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
Jones is being charged with injuring or tampering with a vehicle and battery domestic violence.
The 34-year-old posted bail on Friday and was subsequently released, Raimondi reports.
His next court appearance is set for Oct. 26, when a status check will take place concerning the potential filing of a criminal complaint against him.
Jones was also arrested in March 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on charges of aggravated DWI, negligent use of firearms, possession of an open container, and driving with no proof of insurance. He pleaded guilty to DWI and agreed to one year of probation, four days of house arrest, a $500 fine, two days of community service, and a treatment program.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion hasn't fought since February 2020 and recently said he's training to fight at heavyweight "sometime in the second quarter of 2022."
Jones was honored in Las Vegas on Thursday night, with his 2013 fight against Alexander Gustafsson being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class. Jones defeated Gustafsson via unanimous decision that year.
