Raiders a popular bet for fewest wins in 2019

At least one NFL team that finished last - or tied for last - in its division has jumped to first the following year in 15 of the last 16 seasons. It's safe to say bettors don't think the Oakland Raiders will qualify to fit that mold for 2019 after finishing in the AFC West basement a season ago.

Shops are hanging all sorts of props for the market to bet on over the summer, including which team will finish with the fewest regular-season wins. So far, the Raiders are seeing the most action at Caesars in Las Vegas.

"NFL team with fewest regular-season wins has been pretty slow, but the highest ticket count and most money bet are on the Raiders," oddsmaker Matt Lindeman told theScore. "We also lose to the Bengals, Broncos, Jets, and 49ers and we've actually taken four bets on the Chiefs at 300-1."

The Raiders are coming off a tumultuous year under head coach Jon Gruden, who inked a 10-year deal with the franchise in January 2018. Oakland went 4-12 and finished with a minus-177 point differential, second worst to only the Arizona Cardinals.

However, there is some optimism for the club heading into 2019. Trading for wide receiver Antonio Brown headlined a busy offseason for the Raiders, which included signing a bevy of free agents and picking three times in the first round of the NFL draft. Their win total for the season is currently 6 (over -140) at Caesars.
